Designed with "preventive medicine" in mind, President Inada developed the "Light-sensing Automatic Acupoint Detection Technology System" to create a kneading technique that surpasses human hands. This system detects the body shape of the person sitting in the massage chair and uses this technology to locate acupuncture points. This technology rivals manual massage and surpasses conventional massage chairs, earning it the name "Medical Chair" for its medical perspective.
In 2002, the INADA massage chair was awarded the Order of the Blue Ribbon, Japan's highest honor, by the Emperor of Japan, firmly establishing itself as a national treasure.
